Well I am finally back on the blogging wagon. Life has been manic this year with renovating and moving into our shiny new (not-quite-finished-but-certainly-livable) house. Very exciting!

Now half way through the wedding season and so far (touch wood) have been very lucky with the weather and have had the pleasure of working with some cracking couples... lots of very lovely moments recorded! Am working on shiny new galleries for my website to show you what we've been up to .... watch this space!

Lots going on with the business too -moving into lots of exciting new areas like boudoir, baby bump and a very exciting shoot for an up and coming band... but I couldn't possibly talk about that! I have also been busy launching some gorgeous new products which I am really excited about - from picture frames to beautiful art books to stunning Jorgensen albums... It's all going on! They have been a long time in the making but keen to make sure they are right...I think it's worth the wait!

Anyway - just a quick overview today- will be blogging more details shortly!

It's going to be a cracking year... I can feel it in my bones!

Sunday morning's pre wed shoot was with the lovely Karen and Mark who are getting married at Canonteign Falls next month! Here are a few images from their session....

On Friday we did a pre-wed shoot for the lovely Rosa and Ian who are getting married at the beginning of June.

Most couples feel nervous and self conscious about being photographed - I include myself in this! I mean, not everyone is into public displays of affection and whilst all couples share a closeness quite often this may not be demonstrated in public. So the pre-wed shoots are a perfect time to get used to being photographed and build up a trust with the photographer to enable the couple relax and the photographer to capture images which reflect the couples relationship. Inevitably, and certainly in Rosa and Ian's case, by the end of the session we have bagged a great set of lovely intimate images. The experience enables us to work efficiently and at ease on their big day. Here are a few pics below ...

I did a pre-wed shoot on Bank Holiday Monday for the very lovely Heather and Rob who are getting married next month. The pre wed shoots are an excellent way for couples to get used to being photographed. On their big day couples feel a lot more relaxed about being photographed which help us to get the pictures quickly and without drama. They also get to bag a few informal shots of themselves!
There are a few pictures below from the shoot which we did in the gardens of Reed Hall, http://www.exeter.ac.uk/reedhall/weddings.php) a beautiful wedding venue in Exeter.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with the very lovely JJ, a guitarist from Fleet with the aim of getting a good selection of head shots and arty pictures for promotional purposes. Despite the rubbish weather we managed to get a good selection of portraits from the session using a mixture of flash and natural lighting. Big thanks to William Elworthy for lending us his very beautiful barns providing a perfect rustic backdrop! Check out JJ on Myspace - www.myspace.com/johnsonjaylive Some pictures below...

The Swiss Photo Shoot

On Friday I photographed Steve, Simon and Dave who were after promotional images for their band, The Swiss. Check them out at www.myspace.com/stevedownmusic or at http://www.the-swiss.co.uk/

The guys booked an afternoon session giving us plenty of time for a few outfit and location changes. This provided a good variety of pictures which they can use to market themselves in a number of different ways. Having had plenty of beautiful weather in the run up to the shoot we based the session outside with an indoor backup plan. Fortunately the weather was on our side and we managed to finish up seconds before the heavens opened!

We used a combination of natural light mixed in with a bit of flash just for drama! A small selection of images from the day can be seen below...

Promotional Images of Percussionist, Holly Madge

Today was all about photographing musician, Holly Madge ... fantastic... I love all this stuff... fantastic opportunity to get all creative and try to do something a bit different! Today was all about Holly Madge... a superb female drummer (www.hollymadge.com). I am very lucky to work with this young lady who has played with The Sugarbabes, Robyn, Katherine Jenkins, Dennis Rollins and perfroming on programmes such as Stricly Come Dancing, Children in Need, GMTV and This Morning. The idea was to create a set of portraits, some of which were musically based and other more lifestyle model portraits. The shoot was organised around the opportunity to shoot some live gig images of Holly playing. Seeing as Holly is so beautiful we (the make up artists, Maddie Austin and I) thought we would take the opportunity to bag a few beauty shots, all shot using one studio light. A few images from the day are included below for your interest! Enjoy!
